ABOUT BEADED BEAUTY Greetings! What girl doesn't like jewelry! It's the oldest method of adornment! My name is Maria and I initially started making jewelry for myself. It all started as simply as walking into a craft store one afternoon. They had a "make and take" project of a beaded bracelet on stretch cord. You can imagine what happened next (that instant!). I bought my first sampling of beads and tools, etc. to start my next project! That was 2005. Before long, I found myself making a
necklace set
almost every night...of course to coordinate with my outfit. After each
finished piece of jewelry, I realized how much I loved
making jewelry and working with the different shapes, textures and styles of beads and the
beautiful colors! Just as an artist works with a palette of colors and
textures when he/she paints, I too work with mixing colors and textures.
At the suggestion of friends and co-workers, I have made my handcrafted creations
available to all...sharing my art of beading with you! I hope you enjoy
looking at my website and possibly finding that piece that you can't do without! I am constantly designing, creating and adding to my inventory. Feel free to email me --> Beaded Beauty. I've recently been inspired to paint again! Be sure to visit my Artwork page to see what I've been up to! I also have taken up crocheting with a passion and have been a crocheting fool...my newest creation are "quick run" purses. These decorative handmade purses come in two sizes. Great for holding just the necessities you need to make a "quick run" to the store or to walk your pet, etc. I also make hats, scarves and starting on ponchos as well. Take a peek at some pictures of my garden, etc.
Who is that Beaded Beauty girl? Having grown up on the East Coast (New Jersey), I now reside in Carrollton, Texas which is just north of the Big 'D' (Dallas). I've been here for over 15 years now and love it. (Below) Luckily my cat Angel is complacent about my beading business and has never (at least not yet) disrupted my table full of beads, tools or works in progress. ANGEL is an Operation Kindness kitty that I've had since about 2005. (My friend calls her "devil kitty" because she tends to hiss and swipe at your ankles). SUNNY (short for "Sunday" when I found her) is a stray cat that I took in July 2011. I saw her one day on my fence and immediately went inside to get cat food (I keep a stash of "stray cat food" handy). She was SO scrawny and was losing her hair (from stress?). I had never seen her before and my heart broke! She was sizzling in the TX heat and I couldn't bear it any longer. So, off to vet we went to get spayed and an exam. I hope that she enjoys her home ..at least she's now safe and won't go hungry, cold or hot) Snuggles (Went to kitty heaven April 2009)

My other interests are photography, oil/water color painting, crocheting, gardening, reading and basically being creative. I also like to cook (when the fancy strikes me). Estate sales and auctions are another love of mine. That's how selling on eBay started (I've been a seller since 1999 under the seller name MWDALLAS). I typically sell a variety of old and new: Fitz & Floyd, teapots, glassware, kitchenware, cookie jars, decorative plates, books, candle holders, and on and on. Being a nature lover, I enjoy gardening and am getting better at it! Planting mostly perennials, I can enjoy seeing them sprouting up come Spring as I wonder what it was that I planted. One plant (actually a vine) that I have had great success with in this TX summer heat is the purple Passionflower Vine. It grows anywhere it wants to (especially where I didn't plant it!). Coming back every year without fail (and in more spots in the yard than before), it needs very little TLC. Especially nice is that it's a buttefly host plant and it attracts pretty orange butterflies (the Gulf Fritillary). Their tiny yellow pinhead of an "egg" can be seen on the leaves. It's wonderful to see the butterflies fluttering and dancing about throughout my yard. Hope you enjoy some of the pictures of my garden:
The unusual bloom of the Passionflower Vine.
In 2008, I was in complete awe seeing a white Passionflower on my vine for the first time! I only saw this one bloom and the rest were purple. Haven't seen it since.
Passionflower vine takes over my patio as it does every year !
The butterfly caterpillars love eating the Passionflower leaves...non-stop. They start their lives as mere yellow dots on a leaf and progress to this !
This little guy "hatched" from its cocoon on my garden hose!
Then, the Gulf Fritillary shows off its pretty colors...
More of My Peaceful Garden
Sunflowers, pink Morning Glories, and a hungry squirrel eating a pear from my pear tree add to the garden life.
Morning Glory flowers... they grow great from seed and come back every year.
Friendly squirrel posing on my patio chair... he loves the bird seed!
A new addition (2010) to my garden...the unique Moonflower. The seed pods are large and spiky. (Smells lovely and they're BIG flowers)
I enjoy feeding the wild birds in the backyard. I generally see Cardinals, Doves, Blue Jays and other little birds.
Two lovey Doves
This cutie is picking up the peanuts I put out for him. They pick them up and fly away as fast as I can put them out. Blue Jays just love them!
"Wild" rabbits just come and go into my yard...
Dragonfly
I love photography and my camera has a feature called "color accent". I'm still trying to figure it out but here are just some that I've taken. Apparently, the color accent it was picking up was red.
